The Process
01.
How to inquire.
So you’ve stumbled upon my site and thinking you want to work with me. Great! I’d love to work with you, but need some more info first. Please fill out the inquiry form above and I will get back to you at the nearest business hour.
02.
Getting booked.
After inquiring, I’ll respond on the nearest business hour. I’ll go over my policies, deposits, full costs and possible locations and your preferred method of continuing contact. If this all sounds good to you, we’ll pick a date and mark it on the calendar.
03.
In the days before.
Typically within two weeks (more or less depending on type of shoot), I will reach back out via your preferred contact method with suggestions for clothing, props if needed or any other concerns you may have had.
04.
At the shoot!
We’ll chat a bit to get to know each other in person while I set up and do some tests. We’ll start out with chosen location and outfit and switch up every 10-15 minutes. After the shoot I’ll show you some raw sneaks before we all part. Your photos will be delivered via online gallery within two weeks.
FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
Exactly how many depends on which shoot. Counts start from themed mini shoots offered monthly or seasonally at 15 images, to family and newborn with 40+ images. The average across all of them being 35.
When’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
The greatest sweet spot is within 2-3 weeks after birth, but up to 4 weeks. After the two or three weeks, they start getting more comfortable with the world and want to explore it vs being swaddled in it.
How should we dress for our session?
We’ll break this down by sessions offered.
FAMILY: I suggest something casual. For the second look, maybe some over shirts, like a flannel since we’re in the north or any other type of jacket.
MATERNITY: lots of options, I’d choose one casual option, a more formal dress or robe and something sheer or semi/implied nude.
COUPLES: one formal and one casual look. How formal is up to you. Could be as simple as a day dress, full glam as if it’s a night out, or even a recreation of a bridal look.
BOUDOIR: while most of the time you’ll see lots of hyper sexual looks, you absolutely do NOT need to do that if it isn’t your style. Robes, button down shirts, lingerie of any kind, semi or full nudes or wrapped in sheets and other fabrics are all acceptable!
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
Of course! This is so common, even amongst the most outgoing of us. If you need lots of direction, I can do that. Story telling is another great way to distract you and a partner (tell me how you met or perhaps a hilarious mishap you experienced). Also, enjoy a hobby? Bring it to the shoot! Whether you’re an adult or a child you’re having concerns for, hobbies, collections or toys are always good distractions and typically make for unique and candid images. If you’re shy about a boudoir shoot, don’t be! You are gorgeous and if you don’t believe it, I’ll be sure to hype you up enough there’s no way you’ll be doubtful when it’s time to go.
